An exceptional balance of old and new:
Some years ago we attended a tasting you did at Greenbrier resort and since then we have enjoyed your wines on many occasions and always keep some at home. Unfortunately we live in Maryland where it is difficult to ship wine legally or we’d have it more often!
In planning our current trip, we thought it would be fun to visit Castello Banfi, and upon doing a little internet research, found out about Il Borgo. We made a reservation, but we were not prepared for the wonderful quality we found upon our arrival. You have achieved an exceptional blend of the best of the old and new, with an understated elegance to which we respond with enthusiasm on several levels. We know of nothing that even approaches this wonderful balance anywhere in Italy, or for that matter, anywhere in Europe!
We will be back, of course, and in the meantime we will tell our friends who are headed this way that they are insane if they do not arrange to spend time here.

Thank you so much for making our one-night stay so pleasing. Our 20 hour experience with the winery and the hotel was the highlight or our two-week journey through Italy. We are already attempting to justify a return trip next year (for many days). Everyone on the staff we encountered during our stay was both helpful and sincere. THANK YOU. I truly can not express our gratitude. Your service and the ambiance left me speechless.
My wife and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to visit the property. Ten years ago a friend introduced us to your Rosa Regale for a dessert (paired with chocolate). We still often reproduce this dessert for our guests. When we discovered the possibility of visiting Montalcino, and to even spend the night at your property, we made an adjustment to our original itinerary and made the reservations for the Castello Banfi Il Borgo immediately. We could not have been more pleased. Then, upon our return home, we began sorting through our mail. I noticed we received the June 2009 issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, and on the cover is the title "Tuscany...Luxury touring for less." Inside the magazine, on page 52, is the Castello Banfi Il Borgo. That is just a wonderful accent to our stay.
I am also going to intrude upon you time again if permissible. The bed and linens in our room (number 29) were the best we have EVER experienced. We noticed that the linens were Frette 60% cotton and 40% linen and might have come from the "guest" line from the company. If it is not too difficult, could you please identify these linens (sheets) so that we might order the exact same type. I would like to surprise my wife with these as part of an anniversary present. We spent the following two nights after Il Borgo at the Caesar Augustus hotel on Capri which also had some 60% cotton and 40% linen sheets, but those sheets did not compare to the ones in Banfi.
We will enthusiastically suggest the Castello Banfi Il Borgo to anyone traveling to Tuscany. We appreciate all of your efforts on our behalf, and by the way, the directions to the train station in Grosetto were perfect. The suggestion of boarding the train to Roma in Grosetto instead of Siena allowed us to arrive in Capri about an hour earlier than our schedule. Thank you again!

Greetings from sunny Brazil!
After returning from a long and deserved vacation, I would like to take a few minutes to let you know how happy we were to have chosen Castello Banfi for the grand finale of the Middle East journey this year.
From the first day to the last one; the overall experience exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The suite was meticulously cleaned twice a day, and every single detail was carefully planned and designed to match our satisfaction.
Staff service and training was far above first class hotels my wife and I have experienced on our travels. The team was genuine, pleasant, professional and truly enjoyed what they were doing. It would be unfair on our part, to single out an outstanding individual for his/her superior service, as every single staff member we had contact with, treated us as if we were “royalty”.
Breakfast was great and sophisticated (the staff made it extra special). Wine shop was a daily stop and Lisa made it worthwhile. The dinning with the special sample meal was superb and romantic. Just an evening to be remembered.
Our special thanks to your Manager Andrea, whom we rely on during our stay and made all the arrangements for a memorable time in Italy.
I could summarize our experience in one simple paragraph :
Castello Banfi is a world class wine resort, where one can find outstanding service levels, first class accommodations, unique wine and gastronomic experiences, plenty of tours and activities and a true flavor of Tuscany.
We are looking forward to our return to Banfi next year.
